cerebral palsy

Cerebral palsy (CP) is a motor system disorder caused by damage to the brain that regulate movement to the muscles of the body. In addition to motor disturbances, patients with CP often have impairments caused no interference with the movement of the muscles of the eyes

cause
There are several factors that lead to:
  • During pregnancy, because of genetic abnormalities or maternal experience of infectious diseases, such as rubella during pregnancy.
  • At the time the baby is born, babies born prematurely can be affected by this disorder
  • After birth, caused by trauma to the head, for example, due to falls, infections such as meningitis infection.
Prenatal and material factors are the cause of the most emerging, about 80% of cases.

kind of  muscle reaction on this disorder
Form of motor system disorders that occur among the very varied:
  • Hyperactive, reflexes and stretchable certain muscles excessively, for example in the neck muscles, so people tend to look up and direct the head laterally.
  • The existence of the slow movements in the absence of specific goals that can not be controlled
  • Stiffness in certain muscles. This is evident from the visible limb passively and continuously in a certain position for a long time.
  • In some patients, there was no disturbance of balance and tremors or shaking motion when going to do something.
Generally, children with CP have low intelligence. However, the level of intelligence of children with this disorder is difficult to measure, in addition to nerve damage that inhibits the function of intelligence. For example, difficulty speaking, or seeing success has become a barrier test of intelligence.
As with other types of disorders other woods, the handling of cases of CP requires simultaneous collaboration between neurologists, psychologists and physiotherapists. Also the role of parents, families and surrounding community.
It is important to consider in the process of development of CP children are emotional. The presence of motor disturbances often cause delays in the distribution of emotion through movement, and usually children who have CP show love and protection needs are great. This is because the feeling is different from other children.
